If you have anything, be it sweaters, bras, or bed sheets, with tiny fuzzy balls (pilling) all over it you can easily make the item(s) look new again with a Sweater Stone!
I had a few items with some pretty bad pilling but I didn't want to get rid of them just because of the pilling since they were still in good working condition. On Pinterest I saw people using razors to remove pilling but I wanted something that was less tedious, made for the job, and going to last for years of de-pilling. After a little bit of looking around online I found the Sweater Stone. It was a great price and had good reviews so I thought I'd try it, and I'm glad I did!
I first used it on an old gray v-neck so I could see how it worked, knowing if it ruined my shirt I was already okay with getting rid of it. It was a very simple process of basically brushing the stone over the area with pilling. What could be easier? The results were very promising so I moved on to my husband's hoodie to really get to work. The photo below is a before picture of his hoodie.
Oh my gosh you guys, let me tell you, I love this thing! It worked so well on Adam's hoodie and got rid of all of the pilling. For a before and after I took a picture before I did anything (above) then I de-pilled the left pocket of his hoodie but didn't touch the right side (below). These pictures show a difference but it's even better in person! I can't wait to do my hoodie too and any other pilling-riddled items I have. I also think if you do a lot of thrift store shopping you might want to get one of these so you don't have to turn down a great top, or what have you, just for pilling.
If you have an item, like our hoodies, that are totally covered in pilling I recommend doing it on a hard surface you can easily clean off like a table or the floor. If you're going to do it on carpet or your bed you might want to lay down a sheet for easy clean up because of the removed pilling and Sweater Stone dust. I did it over a sheet and was able to just shake it out outside afterwards. Also, you're going to want to either use a lint roller or wash the item depending on how much pilling you had to remove. The before and after photos are without lint rolling, after using a lint roller it looked even better! The photo below is even more of a close up, comparing the left and right pocket.
I hope this saves you from having to get rid of a favorite something or other just because of pilling too! Have a great weekend you guys!
