Two years ago I was on the hunt for glass water bottles for Adam and myself. I was hoping that using a water bottle would make drinking more/enough water easy--spoiler alert: it did! We ended up buying two 22oz Lifefactory water bottles with the “classic” screw cap lid. Now that summer is upon us it feels like a good time to give them a review!
After doing a bunch of research into different glass water bottles I was sold on the Lifefactory water bottles for their BPA-free, dishwasher safe, sleek design. I really liked the shape of the water bottles as well as the sturdy cap and silicone sleeve. The bottles themselves come in different sizes and colors. As far as sizes go you can purchase 22oz, 16oz, 12oz, and 9oz water bottles. We went for the 22oz because we wanted to be able to fill them up and carry them around without having to refill them as often, but I’m sure any of the sizes available would serve you well. For colors, as pictured, we bought an orange one (Adam’s) and a light green one (mine) but there are many different colors and styles to choose from. Aside from color and size there is also the option of caps. At the time the main option was the “classic” screw cap but now you can choose from a flip cap, straw cap, or a classic screw cap. Or don’t choose at all and buy one of each cap type because they sell them separately!
Moving on to the actual use of these water bottles, they’re great for out and about around town, an adventure like hiking or camping, picnics, or around the house use. If the idea of a glass water bottle makes you nervous don’t worry! I’ve dropped mine at least 3 times and each time I was happy to find that it didn’t break! I wasn’t too surprised though having read other reviews online that said they’ve also dropped theirs multiple times but you’d be none the wiser. That silicone sleeve really does it’s job! I also love how the silicone sleeve has both ml and oz on the back of the water bottle, as pictured above.
As I mentioned, they’re also dishwasher safe which was a big plus for me. Although I usually hand wash mine, it’s nice to know that if you want to you can just throw it in the dishwasher and call it a day. If you are going to hand wash yours too you may want to get a bottle cleaning brush to help get the job done.
Honestly one of my favorite things about these water bottles are the handles on the cap! I haven’t tried a non classic screw cap so I don’t know what the other kinds of lid handles would be like but I love carrying mine around like that. It just fits so nicely in my hand and the weight of it feels really nice and sturdy. When we bought ours I don’t remember wondering about the weight a 22oz water bottle would be once filled but if you are, don’t worry it’s not heavy! Yes, it’s heavier than plastic or metal but nothing to worry about.
All in all I'm really happy with our water bottles and I feel like the 22oz suits our needs but at some point I would like to get a smaller Lifefactory size as well, maybe this yellow one because I love the color.
I hope my review was helpful, if you have any questions please feel free to ask! Have a great week everyone!
