Hey everyone!! Today I wanted to share with you guys my favorite vegan waffle recipe! After Adam and I went vegan almost 3 years ago I was on the hunt for a vegan waffle recipe that would replace the old egg-and-milk-filled one I used to make. As soon as I found this one from Spice Up The Curry I stopped looking and have used this recipe ever since! I’ll also be showing you two of my favorite ways to top these deliciously-crispy-soft-centered waffles so let's get started!
I love waffles so much that over the years for my birthday I’ve asked for 3 waffle irons. I’ve also had times where I’d make a fresh batch every few days to freeze then eat as my daily breakfast. I don’t have waffles on the daily now, instead I drink smoothies for breakfast, but I still make waffles a few times a month to once a week. And they’re still my favorite over pancakes. Sorry pancakes.
I love this recipe because it doesn't call for anything fancy. There aren’t any special butters or vegan eggs needed, it’s just a simple recipe calling for simple ingredients you're most likely already have on hand. So without further ado let’s get onto the waffles!

My Favorite Vegan Waffles
Recipe adapted from Spice Up The Curry
- 1 Cup White Flour
- ¼ Cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 4-5 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 4 Tbsp Sugar
- 4 Tbsp Oil (Olive or Coconut)
- 2 ½ Cups Water
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla
Add all of the dry ingredients to a large bowl and whisk until combined. Next, add all of the wet ingredients and mix well.
Heat up a waffle iron to your desired/or standard setting, cook waffles for about 4 minutes, depending on your waffle iron.
Cinnamon Banana Topping
- Maple Syrup
- Banana Slices
Cut up banana, and top your waffles as desired.
Chocolate Blueberry Topping
- Maple Syrup
- Frozen Blueberries
- Melted Chocolate
Add about ½ cup of chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl and add about 1-2 tsp of oil or (vegan) milk. Microwave in 20-second increments, stirring in between increments until smooth. Next, add frozen blueberries to a microwave safe bowl and microwave until they're completely thawed and heated up.
Whenever we make waffles I usually start by topping my first few triangles (we usually break up the circle) with the Banana Cinnamon toppings then I’ll switch to the Blueberry Chocolatey toppings start adding chocolate to the Banana Cinnamon version!
Looking back on my last three posts/videos I think there's been an unintentional underlying theme: breakfast lol! There’s been Banana Bread Muffins, a Blackberry Banana Smoothie recipe, Crunchy Banana Granola, and now waffles! I hope you guys enjoy the video and get a chance to make yourself a tasty plate of crispy waffles to enjoy this weekend with all your favorite toppings! Have a great day! See you guys on Friday!
